Nigerian Billionaire’s Son Spent $6.3 Million For His Lavish Wedding Ceremony
This wedding could go down as one of the most expensive and most talked about wedding in the history of mankind. According to news reports, a Nigerian billionaire’s son spent roughly £5 million ($6.3 million) on her wedding day.
Folarin Alakija, the son of Nigerian oil billionaire Folorunso Alakija, recently married Iranian model Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifar via a lavish wedding ceremony.
Folarin’s mother, Folorunso Alakija, is widely considered as one of the richest women in the world. In fact, in 2014, she knocked Oprah Winfrey off her post as the richest woman of African descent in the world. Sources say that Folorunso has a net worth of whooping $1.68 billion. Folorunso was the Vice Chair of a Nigerian oil company, Famfa Oil.
The wedding ceremony took place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England – the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The palace was decorated and adorned with one million white roses, designed by the world famous celebrity florist Jeff Leatham, who’s engaged to American actor Colton Haynes.

The flower designs and arrangements, from hanging installations to full flower walls, were absolutely stunning and gorgeous thus giving it a quite expensive price tag too.
Wedding guests included Victoria Secret’s supermodel Shanina Shaik, fashion vlogger and blogger Temi Otedola with the appearance of American singer/songwriter Robin Thicke as their wedding singer/surprise performer.
The wedding guests were treated to a lavish five-course menu, which included foie gras, beef, and sole with alternative choices like crispy duck egg and guinea fowl. The super extravagant wedding also featured 12-feet tall wedding cake covered with white flowers made by Luxury designer, Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium.
The bride’s wedding gown for the ceremony was a stunning strapless lace white dress with a train with the bridesmaids wearing same colored one-shoulder gown to match it up. She then wore a simple yet so elegant and expensive long-sleeved gown embellished with lace appliqués for the reception.
The couple, Folarin Alakija and Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifar met through a mutual friend while they are in London. Folarin was a businessman and Nazanin finished her genetic engineering and biomedical engineering degree from the University of Manchester in United Kingdom. They were engaged for over a year before deciding to tie the knot this year.
