The Story Behind This Wedding Proposal Will Surely Bring Tears To Your Eyes, So Touching!

By  | 7 years ago

This story proves that love moves in mysterious ways.

Three years ago, Melissa Dohme was stabbed 32 times by her ex-boyfriend. The rescuers find her almost lifeless in front of her home soaked with her own blood.

One of the responders at the crime scene was Cameron Hill. Hill said that “it (the stab wounds) was so bad” and “you couldn’t tell she was blond”.

If not for the immediate response of Hill and his team, Dohme is gone. Hill then felt that it might not be the first and last time she will meet the woman.

10 months after the attack, Hill and Dohme reconnected. Since then, they become inseparable and became one of the most inspiring couples at their town.

Years after the tragedy, the couple decided that it’s time for them to make things formal.

In a Tampa Bay Rays game, Hill proposed to Dohme at the pitcher’s mound.

As Dohme is about to throw out the first pitch, a man run out and hand her a ball with the note: WILL YOU MARRY ME.

Hill then got down on one knee and opened up the box of her engagement ring. Dohme said yes and the couple sealed a kiss.

Dohme is now a known advocate for survivors of domestic abuse while Hill continues to serve as a firefighter and paramedic.

I have been following Melissa from day one, as soon as she was attacked, and can say that she definitely is an outstanding woman who has turned her tragedy into a life mission. I was so happy when she posted her engagement on her facebook page- such a true testament that sometimes beauty comes out of the most evil of circumstances!

I love stories like this. Guys are for the most part do not show their feelings so when they get out make a very public demonstration like this, I touches me and make my tear up.
